Amelia Hopkin

LCSW, PMHC

Amelia Hopkin has spent the last 23 years providing help and building relationships with medical providers, community organizations, researchers, educators and most importantly, families who experience one of the hardest kinds of experiences... Infant or pregnancy loss, infertility, unexpected birth experiences, various degrees and types of postpartum depression, NICU stays as well as sexual or health related trauma. She has been a speaker and trainer at both national and international conferences (ask her about speaking to the UN and her month at the HRC!), a published researcher, is certified in EMDR and trained in ACT Therapy, and ART Therapy (the therapy kind, she's a horrible artist and needs to label her stick figures). As one of the only trained EMDR intensive providers in the state of Utah, she helps those who have limited time and significant trauma find deep and meaningful healing. Click on the EMDR tab for more info on that. When not in the office, Amelia may be getting in over her head on a DIY project, reading books, dreaming up a new travel adventure, finding nature, looking for ways to avoid doing laundry or trying out a new restaurant or recipe.

Einstein

Like his name-sake, Einstein has both the crazy mustache as well as a quick and observant mind. He's a full blooded Havaneese with the prized non/shedding silky hair that feels like petting a Minky blanket. Although 7 years old, he is full of energy and excited to meet new people; 10 lbs feels like the perfect size to curl up on or next to your lap. He'll do about anything you ask for a few treats and has a bag of tricks that make most people smile. Einstein is especially in-tune with mood shifts and often marks moments spontaneously by nuzling clients who experience shifts towards sadness or anxiety during sessions.

Raphael

As the newest professionally trained therapy dog in the office, Raphael (Raphi) is a favorite of our younger clients and loves to play or accompany clients and therapists on walking/active sessions (when weather permits). As a 1 yr old 50 lb poodle, his super powers are his sweet personality, fluffy coat that makes petting him so easy and the pressure he gives to clients that are experiencing mild to moderate levels of anxiety by laying his paws on their laps or leaning against their legs. Fetch is his favorite activity, so don't be surprised if he brings you his squeaky ball.
